Grissom High senior Brooklyn Dodds is still reeling from a fight she was in last Thursday. She said that some seniors were upset at the juniors for not wearing the right colors for spirit week. Water balloons were thrown, and chaos ensued. Brooklyn  accidentally bumped into some girls and they looked at me and started screaming at me, like calling me cuss words,” she said.  “I told them not to talk to me like that.”

Not long after words started flying, Brooklyn said the fussing turned physical. “They just reared back and jumped at me,” she said. “A bunch of the girl’s friends just piled on top and started kicking me and stepping on my stomach and kicking my ribs and pulling my hair in all different directions. I had huge knots on my head. I have huge bruises on my knees and I have headaches now.”

Dodds said that fight was just one of many that happened that day around the same time.

“While I was being mauled by a bunch of people, there was another fight going on and then another one,” she said.

Officials with Huntsville City Schools have told WAFF there’s not much they can comment on, but they said at least six children have been disciplined from last week’s fights.
