GA. School fight caught on tape

There’s cell phone video of a fight at Effingham high school Tuesday. It’s only 23 seconds long but in that short time, student Emilee Bowers’ father says, another girl attacked his daughter. He and the family are outraged.

“Hurt and pissed but that’s what happens when you try and raise your kids right,” said father Scott Bowers.

The video was posted on Facebook within hour with many commenting on it, some even egging it on.

“I was devastated when she came down the hallway toward me,” said grandmother Debra Cribbs. “She had a knot on her right temple, a knot on her forehead.”

The Bowers family says bullying has been an ongoing problem at the school and they’re not happy with the way the school is handling it. They’re shocked no one tried to stop it.

“I want the bullying to stop period,” said Bowers. “Make the teachers do their jobs. The other girl involved was suspended but we were not able to get a hold of anyone at the school to comment. However, we did speak to another principal at South Effingham High School.

The school will allow the suspended girl to return to class and an opportunity to correct her behavior.”

The Bowers family wants more reassurance that the school will not allow any more assaults on their daughter.
