CA. Girl treated for superficial knife wounds after fight at Oakland High School

A lunchtime fight at Oakland High School Thursday left a 16-year-old girl with superficial knife wounds on her face, according to accounts from school district police officers at the scene and school district spokesman Troy Flint.

Police said it appeared that the 16-year-old was injured after she and another student attacked a girl — who was carrying a small knife — near the school’s MacArthur Boulevard entrance at lunch. Firefighters initially treated the teenager’s cuts on the campus, Flint said. Police said the girl was later taken to Children’s Hospital Oakland.

Here the girl that was attacked defended herself.
