Five students were charged after a fight Thursday morning at Bonner Middle School, according to a news release from Danville police.

Shortly after 11 a.m., the school’s staff broke up a fight involving 5 students in the cafeteria.

The investigation revealed that a 13-year-old female student was assaulted by four female students, ranging in age from 13 to 15. The extent of the victim’s injuries were not disclosed.

As school resource officers were escorting the students away from the cafeteria, a 14-year-old male approached them and attempted to start another fight, police said. He was removed from school property along with the females.

Five of the students were charged with disorderly conduct. Four of the female students also were charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, according to the release.
