Oregon. Teacher assaulted by student at Carowinds

A high school teacher intends to press charges against a student this week after she told the York County Sheriff’s Office that the student punched her in the face and threw a cup of urine out of a bus window while on a field trip to Carowinds.

The incident happened earlier this month while students and teachers from Charlotte’s Vance High School waited to enter the amusement park, according to a sheriff’s office report.

The teacher, 39, told deputies that the student, 18, asked to use the bathroom while on the bus and was told she’d have to wait.

The student got angry, urinated in a cup and threw it out the window, the report states.

Once they got off the bus, the student yelled profanities at the teacher and threatened to slap her, according to the report. Another teacher escorted the student away.

The student then said she wanted to apologize and was allowed to approach the teacher, the report states.

Instead of apologizing, the student threatened the teacher again and hit her in the face with an iPhone in her hand, causing swelling to the teacher’s lip,
